Since 2007, iconic Aussie RV company Jayco has called South Dandenong home. Sprawling over a 50-acre facility, the RV’s are made on site within the 60,000sqm manufacturing complex. Employing over 1000 local team members, the decision to hire Orlando Powered as the electrical contractors for their commercial outdoor lighting LED upgrade would improve both safety and energy efficiency for the business.

The Project

Jayco in South Dandenong contracted us for commercial LED lighting upgrades to the pole lights around the carpark and factory. With many lights located throughout the large facility, this job would require coordination of machinery, closing off areas of the property to complete the works, and working together as a team efficiently to complete the upgrades on time.

Our Approach

At our initial site visit, we assessed the poles so that we could come prepared with machinery that could get us to the correct height, and confirmed the type of LED outdoor lights that would suit those type of poles.

We coordinated with the management at Jayco when we would shut down sections of the car park in order to complete the work in a timely manner.

Finally, our team got to work with the commercial LED lighting installation for the Jayco Dandenong facility!

What Challenges Did We Face?

Whenever we take on any commercial electrical jobs, we understand how important it is to respect the day to day operations. During this LED lighting upgrade to the outdoor pole lights, we had to coordinate access to the lights while hundreds of employees carried out their daily operations. While it wasn’t so much a challenge, it was a scenario that we were constantly adjusting to in order to complete the work with minimal disruption.

The Results

The client is pleased with the improved visibility, and will no doubt enjoy the cost savings from future energy bills thanks to the change to LED outdoor lighting.
